In an examination, we had the task of making a coat rack taking inspiration in the danish design brand Form & Refine. I wanted to embrace their design language especially regarding the use of materials and shapes.

The design is inspired by the uncontroversial and experimenting shapes seen in the brands product portfolio. It had to add up with my own design language, as I like to challenge the standard aesthetics.

Sculptural design is one of my characteristics - and this coat rack was to be no exception. Making this product stand out in both the entrance hall and bedroom, it had to be both functional, rich in quality, aesthetic and different. All in which I found the shape and construction extremely important.

This coat rack is by all means a functional sculpture, that invites you to make use of it. Bringing the room that it is placed in a beautiful piece of nature both in shape and the warm-filled material of oak, this coat rack ensures a unique, simple, aesthetic and playful expression. The hooks can turn 180 degrees making the product more interactive and fun for use. The plateau in the bottom is divided into four shelves that is adjustable as they can turn in different directions - perfect for shoe storage or showcasing.
