In search of a new open shelving system for our home, we found it more difficult to find a piece than first anticipated.

Either the shelves were too expensive, not our style or not made of the right materials we wished for.

I then decided to make a design myself accommodating our needs. The dream was to have a simple open shelving system with a clean and solid wooden surface. Furthermore it had to be spacious having enough room for different items to be showcased. The assemblies of the shelf would add an extra value if they were to be a beautiful detail that make up the expression of the design.

Having that in mind I created some assemblies that would be great in construction and add a beautiful detail to the design. The material is solid oak matching our dining table with its warm colour and beautiful texture.

We especially love the “hugging” effect of the assemblies where the shelf support are hugging the legs and you get to see the wooden texture from two different angles pitted against each other.
