Rotate is a wooden coffee table designed to combine practical purposes with function and aesthetics.

As a part of the youth-majority living in apartments in the city of Aarhus, I wanted to create a coffee table that fits into smaller spaces. In our home, we use this furniture for different purposes, which I wanted to be reflected into our coffee table.

One of the most important criteria was table space. It seems a bit contradicting to living small where you need to utilize the sparse rooms as best as possible. However, we use the table for working matters, for dining, and for creative purposes which requires table space.

Another criterion was to create a timeless design making it long-lasting coming together with function and quality.

From these criteria, the coffee table is made with a rotating function that makes it possible to change the angle of the turning table. You could say that it is two tables in one with different functions and expressions, which I somehow find sculptural. The table can be adjusted and made smaller by rotating it 180 degrees or 90 degrees to create a more asymmetric look or just for practical reasons.

Acquiring furniture comes with responsibility. It means to commit to the products and imagining them staying in your home for a long time, which is what I envision with Rotate.
